Socruithe do bhus na scoile / School bus arrangements
I have spoken with Seán from Ace Coaches today regarding the arrangements for the new school year and have discussed with him the guidance from DE surrounding school transport.
Seán and the whole team at Ace Coaches (Marty & Fodhla) are great supporters of our school and have provided an invaluable service to our school community for many years now. They are keen to help us to keep the pupils of GSAR safe on their journey to school.
Seán has assured me that the school bus will only be used for school runs and that they will implement strict daily sanistising procedures. We are also going to supply a staff member to accompany the children on the bus each morning for the first week (beginning Mon 7th Sept), to ensure that the children only sit beside children who are in the same class bubble as them / members of their family.
The Department of Education guidance states that parents should, where possible, make their own arrangements for getting children to school and should only use public / shared buses as a last resort. They also recommend that children should walk or cycle to school, if it is safe to do so. However, we recognise the valuable service provided by Ace Coaches and are reassured that Seán and his team have put adequate precautions in place to safeguard our pupils.
If you wish to book a seat for your child on the Ace Coaches morning / afternoon run from Monday 7th September onwards, please contact Fodhla on 028 877 53535 and reserve a place by Friday 28th August @5pm. As previously mentioned, the bus will not be available during the week beginning Tuesday 1st September. Places on the bus will be limited, so please call and reserve your seats.
