These little books are suitable for children in Rang 1 and Rang 2 and are based on the most common vocabulary & common phrases in the children's spoken Irish. Please use these books to practise reading with your child at home. Please encourage your child to:

1. Name the objects in the pictures
2. Identify the beginning sound of the objects in the pictures
3. Count how many times they see a particular word throughout the book, eg. seo, maith, Is, agam etc.
4. Identify a particular word, eg. Show me the word 'Tá', Show me the word 'maith' etc.
5. Make up sentences of their own using the same structure as the phrase used in each book, eg. Is maith liom (I like) - encourage them to give three examples of things that they like, using the same phrase.
6. When reading, children should place their finger under each word and read from the beginning sound. They should move their finger from one word to the next, until the end of the sentence.
